Lane Bennett is the new hotshot lead public defender of Bounty County. A transplant from Chicago to Montana, Lane ran from the big city to escape a bad breakup, a far-too-stressful job, and all the anxiety issues that came along with it. Complicating matters, however, is that Lane is about to take on the biggest case of her career. A beloved city police officer was allegedly murdered by her client, a non-violent man with a heavy criminal past. But something doesn't quite smell right and Lane begins to suspect corruption. The problem is, she needs the Sheriff's Department to help her shore up her defense. And she needs Jake to protect her from the danger in which she suddenly finds herself.
Will Jake be able to convince Lane that their connection is more than just lust? Will the conflicts of interest be too much to handle? When a surprise rocks their world, will Jake step up and prove to be the man Lane simply cannot live without?
Changing Lanes is Book 2 of the Bounty County Series. Each book is standalone and can be read on its own, but it's helpful to read the series in order to fully understand the characters.

Jake and Lane really didn’t like each other in book 1 which was why I was so curious about how they ended up together. I thought Jake was the biggest d-bag in book 1 but he’s totally won some brownie points. Lane is also a great female lead, she’s a strong woman without being too much. I almost feel like their personality switched, where in reality Jake was actually the laid back guy while Lane is the one who was more emotional than I’d thought of them in book 1.Product details

I LOVED everything about Jake!!! I LOVED everything about Lane! The second book of this series was great. The dynamic between the main characters was awesome.

3 1/2 stars. I loved Lane. Her character was well written. Jake on the other hand came off as a overgrown teen. I liked him one moment and not the next.
I think this author has great potential.
Okay so I thought Justin and Chloe were hot. But now come Lane and Jake. Jake took 1st place pretty quickly with his domineering sexy self. And had me swooning the whole time. Lane is a sassy, smart lady and Jake knows just how to handle her.
WOW!! After the first read I knew I had to read Jake and Lanes story and I wasn't disappointed. This story was outstanding!! Who doesn't love a hot, sexy, alpha policeman with a dirty mouth and a strong, fiesty woman who knows how to push all his buttons. This is a fun, sexy read that you just can't put down. I can't wait for Wesson's story.
Loved loved loved this book!!! Lane is a total bad ass and I can relate to her... well all the female characters of this series actually!!! They say what they want and take no crap from anyone and they love with everything they have. And let's not forget the hot men in uniform who make us stronger and will protect and love with everything they have!!! If you're looking for sexy, hot uniformed men and bad ass chicks who rule the world... then you have found the right book!!! Thank you Maren Lee!!!
Lane and Jake's story was fantastic. She's a public defender, and he's an officer who puts the bad guys away. Jake seems to have a lot of issues with Lane and what she does (defending said bad guys), but he can't help the attraction he feels for her. Their story was full of drama and sexy, steamy love scenes.
I love books with serial characters so having read the first book in this series (Ride Along) it seemed all too natural to read Changing Lanes. (also can I just say 'Changing Lanes'!!?!...Nice! I am a geek for double entendres!! I was NOT disappointed. This book exceeded my expectations! The character development was very strong and I loved discovering so much about the lives of Lane and Jake -) So far, it seems like this series is a fun ride and I absolutely love that (so far, at least) each book in the series focuses on a new character/couple without abandoning the story we've already read. It is such a fun and unique way of introducing new characters, and new stories, into a series that we really like!! (any bets on the characters that are in the next book?)
Note - I didn't write about this at first, but this book has definitely got some VERY well written 'romance' scenes...if you know what I mean...I might have read them more than once, but I'll never tell!
